3rd and final image which is my head shot. In this I wanted to recreate the deterioration of Daisy as a person. Her character, her life and general surroundings are all crumbling around her. To describe this image in one word I would say 'numb', as this is the moment after she had just hit Myrtle so she is going through many emotions. I picked this as my final image as I think my photographer really captured the shame, despair and worry through my models eyes. With the camera being slightly lower and Lauren's chin being raised and looking down I think this worked well to create a sense of being lost within herself which is exactly how I could image Daisy Buchanan being. The make-up wasn't really developed much from my second shoot, just simply smudged lipstick to resemble an unpolished look obviously from what Daisy had just been through. For the eyes I applied a shade of grey from my Super Color pallet using a cotton wool pud and with water I created a look that made Lauren seem as if she had just stopped crying. The look of being distraught and finally catching her breathe again. I find this to be quite a powerful image but one thing that I shall take note for the future is that on Lauren's left cheek where the water had trickled down her face it left an mark in her foundation. At the time the water was falling down her face but because the make-up was still in place and didn't smudge, with the line on her cheek, it doesn't look like a tear it looks like an imperfection in the skin. This is something that I shall take on board for my future shoots, to keep focus on the little details that work together to make the over all image.

Final Look 2. . .
I feel out of the 3, this is my strongest image. With this being my mid-length shot, I wanted to capture the main aspects that I worked on in developing my final look. The hair was a big part of this look as I had painted on darker tones to the roots and the top waves to give it more depth. I wanted to capture Daisy's anxiety and nerves in this picture, all the thoughts going through her head and the fact she is deep in thought, I directed Lauren to look over her shoulder and down. By doing this it creates a sense of uneasiness because Daisy isn't confident to look into the camera for strong eye contact. I think the direction of Lauren's eyes as well shows clearly the different shades on her eyes which is something I am pleased with. With Lauren's hazel/green eye color and the gold/purple/red pigment combination I used on her eyes, really works well together I think.
Final Look 1.
I feel that for my first look, for what I wanted to create it went quite well. This is where I wanted my model, Lauren, to represent clearly Daisy's smug side because at the end of the day, she was quite the bitch. Like I have previously stated in my blog, I wanted to capture the emotion of Daisy being content and smug about life because she had 2 men madly in love with her and she has everything she ever wanted. The main thing about this image that I think worked well is Lauren's right eyebrow being slightly raised, to show 'HA!', I have everything and a perfect life. With the strong eye contact into the lense as well makes the image quite strong as I think with this sort of image and the message I was trying to get across this is a strong factor.
The main thing that didnt go according to plan was the fact that this was meant to be my full length shot. When it came down to the actual shoot, positioning Lauren and getting her to stand up and looking at the pictures after, none of the images worked due to composition and lack of structure. From this I have learnt to do atleast 1 test shoot before my actual shot to learn these sorts of errors. I feel as if this will be considered when it comes down to grading my work as I did not meet the criteria of a full length shot but I have learnt for future shoots.

Preparation. . .
So during the progression towards my final shoot, I took a few images on my phone for my blog and to just for my keeps sake. This is by far my favorite as I feel that you can really see the different shades on the eyes and the contoured and highlighted cheeks, plus Lauren naturally has amazing eyes and this really shows it. . .
The image below shows Lauren before the first shoot for the first look. For this I didn't want the make-up to be too heavy as this was the more 'natural', day-time look so wanted to keep it quite neutral. With the image on the right, I think you can clearly see the finger wave technique I did using the Babyliss tongs which turned out great!
For the 2nd image, as Lauren had about an inch of root, with her natural hair color being a dirty blonde, I thought to put my fine art background in good use as Sue my tutor said, paint onto the hair to really add extra depth to the wave. So using the grey from my SuperColor Palette and with a brush, I added a tad of water and painted onto the front of Lauren's hair line to enhance the waves to shape her face and onto the first few top waves. Doing this technique really shaped her face and brought my attention to the eyes I thought with the contrasting shades.
The final image below here is before the second shoot. I think in this image you can really see the detail of painting in the hair line and the top of the waves plus also one of the 2 headbands I made for my shoots. I decided to keep the hair throughout all 3 looks because when Lauren's hair it was the perfect length for it to be waved, unlike if I straightened it, it would be slightly too long for the classic 1920s bob look and this wouldn't of been as effective I don't think.
This was taken during the 3rd shoot, but as I wanted this look to be my head shot you wouldn't be able to see the detail of the headband. So here is one of my favorite pictures from the shoot because I think with the position of the Lauren's head with her looking down, deep into the camera, kind of shows the story that she once had everything, and now it all seems to be crumbling. She has just killed someone and she is going through all these different emotions thinking what to do next. I like as well the fact that you see her tears and smudged make-up from distress, yet the contrast with the glitzy head piece. You would think that someone with that kind of money able to afford head pieces like that wouldn't have a reason to cry.
DIY. . .
HEADBANDS!
Why go buy them in a shop or offline when you can make your own? Exactly what I thought! Not hard at all and pretty basic to do but I thought I would dig out my old sewing hit and make my own. By this I would create something that nobody else would have and I think it adds that something special because I did something that extra different. So I went down to Fabric Land and bought some elastic as it does the job quickly, cheaply and effectively and some ready made, embroided pieces that I thought would be suitable for my looks.

After. . . . .
I wanted to create more of a day-time head band for my first look, something effective but not as flamboyant. For the second band I wanted this one to be for my last look so I wanted it to be more extravagant (as extravagant as I could get without it getting silly expensive), so what better way to make something look more fancier than it actually is, feathers and sequins! Boom! jobs a good'n.
