Baby, the Classics Never Fade - photographed by D'Agostino and stylist Stella Lee teamed up for a story of classic glamour with FGR's latest exclusive featuring Erin Fee. Paying homage to decade spanning looks ranging from the 1920s to 1980s, Lee serves up a wardrobe of vintage pieces from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta. Erin takes on the twentieth century classics with gusto in dramatic makeup by Beau Nelson and lush curls by Michelle Navar.
The main reason as to why I am looking at this collection is because of the lighting, this is pretty much EXACTLY how I want my final images to look. From previous seminars where we have looked into lighting for our final shoots and what you can create by focusing on the lighting, as soon as I found this collection I knew straight away this was it, all my ideas of how to position my model for Daisy Buchanan is similar to these. Only lit from one angle so this highlights my models facial features adding depth to cheekbones with shadow. Although these images are monochrome, I am still undecided whether to use this effect for my final images or not, as I want them to be quite dark and sinister. I want to create a dark, deep mood with shadow and depth with my composition, using singular or double lighting set ups to create harsh contrasts of light and dark, sharp shadows to make the highlight of the subjects features to stand out against the dark shadows.
