Ralph Lauren Spring 2012

Ralph Lauren Spring 2012, New York Fashion Week

Moving onto the modern day fashion interpretation of 1920s entire, I have found many fashion blogs and websites that reference 1920s fashion in current collections from the past few years. This is Lauren's roaring twenties - Ralph Lauren's Spring 2012 collection was inspired by 1920s, Great Gatsby  silhouettes. From turn of the century pant suits to flapper dresses, the Lauren woman is a glamourous dresser for the new season. Embracing pastel hues, heavenly ivory and showy metallic, spring collections all things soft and feminine with floral prints, satin and feathered accessories. I love this collection as I hink the colour scheme is something that wouldn't necessarily by put together when thinking of 20s fashion, quite neutral, pastelle like colours. I think the materials that have been used as well is something to be praised as although the colours are quite subte, the way the lose material moves with the body, as in if it drifts, is similar to the tassels and flap girl dresses that we were worn back in the era.
